Terra Madre 2012
October marked Slow Food’s 6th Terra Madre gathering in Turin, Italy. This year, Terra Madre coincided with Slow Food’s International Congress, a meeting of slow Food’s global leadership, and joined Salone del Gusto, ‘hall of taste,’ Slow Food’s festival of good, clean, and fair food.
Terra Madre is a global network of food communities, each committed to producing quality food in a responsible, sustainable way. Every two years since 2004, Slow Food has invited the people of Terra Madre to Turin, Italy to gather and share food and ideas. Terra Madre is a life-changing experience. Something everyone our movement should attend at least once. This fall, Vermont came seventeen times closer to that goal, sending seventeen leaders to Turin–including three delegates to Slow Food’s International Congress and four delegates to Terra Madre. Represent!
