Get involved and help make the world a BITTER place! Here are the Slow Food Vermont activities during the week:
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 14th, 9am-2pm: Burlington Farmers’ Market, come swing by our tent to learn about Slow Food Vermont, Slow Food USA, taste chicories and learn about bitter! Pick up a Chicory Week Bingo Card so that you can join in the celebration all week long and enter our raffle to win an Slow Food Vermont gift basket!
MONDAY, OCTOBER 16th, 5:30-7:30pm: Roasted Chicory Pasta with Trencher’s Farmhouse and SFVT , Join us during Vermont Chicory Week to learn how to make a roasted chicory pasta with bacon and cheese with Trencher's Farmhouse and Slow Food Vermont! Class will be held in the Community Teaching Kitchen of the South End store, and attendees must wear close-toed shoes. SOLD OUT!
THURSDAY & FRIDAY, OCTOBER 19th & 20th: Dine out and make the world a bitter place! Enjoy chicory-related dishes with our Snail of Approval awardees! For a list of participating restaurants, please check the VT Chicory Week website.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 21st, 9am-2pm: Burlington Farmers’ Market, Swing by our tent to learn about Slow Food Vermont, Slow Food USA, taste chicories and learn about bitter - we will also have the Slow Food USA Ark of Taste books for sale! Last chance to submit your Chicory Week Bingo Card! Raffle drawing at 2pm - MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN!
Also at the market, SOA Awardee Trencher’s Farmhouse will have a Chicory Week special of their Rye and Radicchio Triangoli, a pasta made with Thornhill rye flour blended with Nitty Gritty Grains wheat, and filled with balsamic roasted radicchio, sage, chives and local cheeses.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 22nd, 4-7pm, Chicory Week Potluck Celebration, Get creative with all the chicories you found at market yesterday and bring your dish to share! EVENT RSVP HERE
