World Disco Soup Day is a culinary and musical act of protest that began in 2012 with the Slow Food Youth Network in Germany. Since then, events have spread across the world as a fun, meaningful way to bring food insecurity and food waste into focus with delicious impact -- hundreds of millions of tons of food have been diverted from landfills, compost heaps, and dumpsters right onto plates.

Slow Food Vermont is once again teaming up with youth chapters at area colleges, the Chittenden County Emergency Food Shelf, and area chefs and farms to host Vermont's 2nd Annual Disco Soup Celebration!  (Last year we gleaned 1700# of produce that contributed to 3,000 meals!)
