Southern Soul Food!
For our eighth Slow Food Supper this year, we are focusing on one of our richest food traditions in America, and one that people are fiercely devoted to: Southern Soul Food! The tradition of “meat and three”, chicken and waffles, collards, fried okra, hushpuppies, and don’t forget the biscuits! This is being held in the heat of the summer so that we have access to the ingredients we need to have a truly Southern Soul inspired meal together!
Please bring your dish ready to eat. If you need to reheat at the potluck, that is fine.
Please provide a list of ingredients in your recipe as well.
Slow Food Suppers are potlucks, and they are always free to attend. Just RSVP to this ticket so we know how many people we’ll be hosting. This year, each Slow Food Supper will take place in a different location, across the state – this one will be in Burlington at Slow Food Vermont President Mara Welton’s home. These events are always packed and promise a good time, so if you haven’t attended one yet, please do!
We look forward to seeing you there!
