The Past, Present, & Future of Cheesemaking in Vermont!
Enjoy this guided formal tasting and geek-out on the science behind what happens when you taste cheese! This is the first in the Adventures in Taste series partnership between South End Kitchen and Slow Food Vermont.
On Sunday, Jan. 26th from 5-7pm, your tour guide is dynamic teacher and award-winning author of the Atlas of American Artisan Cheese, Jeff Roberts. We will be tasting the past, present and future of Vermont cheese with Kate Turcotte, head cheesemaker at Shelburne Farms (formerly of Consider Bardwell) and Jeremy Stephenson, head cheesemaker at Spring Brook Farm and president of the Vermont Cheese Council. Cheeses will be partnered with a VT libation or two.
You will leave with a new vocabulary for tasting and awareness of where the VT cheese scene is headed. This tasting is based on the Theater of Taste model employed by Slow Food International’s series held at the globally celebrated Salone del Gusto.
