For our fifth Slow Food Supper this year, we are celebrating Mexican Cuisine! It’s Cinco de Mayo, and what better way to celebrate than with margaritas, chips & salsa, and every Mexican delight you can think of? Our generous hosts will be providing homemade margaritas, and we have wind that someone will be making homemade tortillas (both flour and corn!) for this event! Let’s roll out all your Mexican favorites and celebrate this vibrant cuisine together!
It has been suggested that Mexican cuisine could be considered one of the world’s great cuisines along with French, Chinese and others. The regional variations are extraordinary just within Mexico itself, and the cuisine has had a profound effect on food in the United States, including Southwestern and Tex-Mex.
Try your hand at traditional Mexican enchiladas, Tex-Mex fajitas, or how about showing off your favorite salsa recipe or nacho technique? Don’t forget about sopapillas! Whatever you’d like to make, simple or challenging, bring it to the party!
Please bring your dish plated and ready to serve, and please bring serving utensils.
Please provide a list of ingredients in your recipe as well.
Slow Food Suppers are potlucks, and they are always free to attend. Just RSVP to this ticket so we know how many people we’ll be hosting. This year, each Slow Food Supper will take place in a different location, across the state – this one will be in Berlin. These events are always packed and promise a good time, so if you haven’t attended one yet, please do!
We look forward to seeing you there!
